Heron IT Has Moved to a Larger Office Within Basepoint Ipswich

Due to growing demand, Ipswich computer services company Heron IT has just moved to a new, larger office, within the Basepoint business centre at The Havens, on the outskirts of the town.

We have been a licensee at the centre since 2016 and are very happy with the location, but we have decided to take on a 50% bigger office because we need more space.

The main reason for the move is additional staff and generally higher levels of business activity. The move took place on May 1, 2019 and we are settling into our new home.

Why We Need More Space

The digital economy in the UK is growing fast.  Heron has seen demand rise, and we are now much busier, after taking on two new customers every month in the last year, covering Office 365, storage servers and supply of equipment.

This means more space is needed, particularly for preparing computer equipment for local customers in Ipswich and across Suffolk. We offer a comprehensive IT procurement service, supplying the whole range of both software and hardware. Our direct relationships with major manufacturers such as Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo and Hewlett Packard enable us to offer reliable business products at competitive prices.

Heron’s director of sales and marketing, Sarah Black, has been in the industry for over 26 years. This means she can help customers choose the products that are right for them, saving time and money. We can also offer different types of finance agreements to help spread payments, and in some instances grants are available.

Heron also supplies a range of high-tech equipment to our blue chip customers nationwide, such as drones and virtual reality kit.

Growth in staffing is another reason for the increased space. Heron’s apprentice is coming to the end of his course and it’s our intention to keep him on. We are training him in accordance with our focus on the needs of our customers, so he understands the practical day-to-day pressures of running a business.

Our Range of IT Services

The range of IT services we offer has expanded over the years, including IT strategy, managed IT services and IT training. We also offer a full range of solutions for cyber security, and support, training and consultancy to help ensure GDPR compliance.

Heron specialises in modern, cost-effective solutions, focusing on current business needs, rather than just offering traditional server technical management.

As well as providing software solutions, we recognise that there are still requirements for physical hardware in certain circumstances, such as inadequate broadband speeds or line-of-business applications.  Whether changes to software or hardware are needed, our experience and knowledge help us to home in on the right solutions.

Advantages of Basepoint

We have been a Basepoint licensee for several years and find there are many advantages to being based there. The location of the Ipswich centre is ideal for us to travel to a wide surrounding area, adjacent to the A14 and with good access to the A12, the route to London.

The location is also very convenient for customers to visit us, with free parking available. We can chat to our clients in the breakout area over a coffee as well as in our own office, or arrange a meeting in the serviced meeting room.

Other services at the centre include reception and mail collection and business support, as well as digital phones and high-speed internet, which are obviously ideal for Heron as an IT services provider.

Another advantage of being a Basepoint licensee is that we can use other Basepoint and Regus sites as office bases when serving clients in other locations, such as London.

Manager of the Ipswich centre Alison Morrissey has welcomed Heron’s expansion, saying that they are delighted “to see licensees grow and flourish” – and that she looks forward to having Heron as a licensee for many more years.
