Enhanced IT Security Options for Heron IT Clients
Heron IT have upped their game in the security field, and we now offer clients various options to improve their cybersecurity.
Firstly, we have developed an interactive seminar around Cyber Security and Data Protection and has presented this to several clients already. The aim is to make the topics personally-relatable so that staff can appreciate the importance of taking care and getting things right when handling information. The seminars have been well-received and usually result in an discussion about internal processes which are subsequently improved as a result. One seminar was with Ben Holden Limited who’s staff were very engaged, even Sid the dog stood guard at the door against cybercriminals!
Secondly, we now offer a user awareness training tool which is easy to use and informative. It helps users to be aware of situations where they may make themselves or their organisation vulnerable to cybercrime.
Thirdly, we are using a simple, affordable solution to manage the vulnerabilities of client computers, and if they wish, proceed to Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. Cyber Essentials helps to guard against the most common cyber threats and demonstrates, to a government-backed level, an organisation’s commitment to cyber security.
We have also appointed a Security Officer who is overseeing the development and deployment of the new systems and alongside our existing security measures, we’ve upgraded to a robust managed firewall solution to further increase the security of our on-premise networks.
We have always tried to stay one step ahead with protective processes such as email scanning, secure passwords, 2-step verification and being open to questions about any sort of security worry our clients may have. The new steps are designed to make sure our clients are not easy to compromise and as a result, the criminals will look elsewhere for easier pickings.
